Create: Ground up, Designs Built from your Vision

When vision demands more than modification, Camman builds from the ground up. Create delivers one-of-a-kind designs engineered for signature spaces, where imagination meets American craftsmanship.

Why Create?

From concept to completion, Camman engineers one-of-a-kind fixtures built from the ground up to match your exact vision. Expect maximum flexibility, the longest lead times, and the highest level of engineering detail, because true innovation takes time and precision. Designed, fabricated, and assembled in Pennsylvania, every Create project is fully BAA compliant and built to perform where standard ends.

Start Your Project

What to Expect

Step One: Connect with your Local Agent

All Create projects start with your local agent. During this step they’ll gather project details, coordinate with our custom team and guide the process from start to finish. Your agent is your direct connection to our design and production teams, ensuring clear communication, accurate expectations, and seamless coordination. If you are unsure who your local agent is, check out our “Find an Agent” page.

Step Two: Define your Concept

This is where your vision takes shape. Share your project needs, whether that’s fixture references, inspiration images, application details, dimensions, desired material and finishes, performance requirements, target budget, or quantity. We’ll work with as much as you have. The more you share, the faster and more accurate our concept development and quote can be.

Step Three: Feasibility Review

Our custom team reviews your concept to ensure it can be engineered and manufactured to meet both design intent and performance goals. During this review, we identify potential constraints related to materials, scale, or performance, and discuss all options with you to determine the best path forward. This step ensures that creativity and practicality stay perfectly balanced before development begins.

Step Four: Concept Drawings & Preliminary Quote

Once the concept is approved for development, our custom team will prepare preliminary concept drawings showing form, size and key construction details. You will also receive a preliminary quote and estimated lead time. These drawings and details allow for early visualization and feedback before moving into full development.

Step Five: Refinement and Approval

With your input, we’ll fine-tune every element from proportions, finishes, optics, and mechanical details, until the design is exactly right. When you’re satisfied, we’ll finalize the drawings, confirm pricing and lock in lead times for production. This stage marks the transition from concept to creation, where your one-of-a-kind fixture moves from design to build.

We typically provide a quote and spec sheets in just a few days, and often even the same day. Of course, larger projects take more time – and we’ll let you know that up front.

Yes - even for custom fixtures, photometric (IES) files can be provided upon request, usually within a day or two. Revit files may take a bit longer depending on need, and we’ll work that out with you.

If drawings, material samples, and finish samples aren’t enough, we can produce a sample fixture. The process is project-specific and we’ll work with you and your Agent to determine the best method for your project.

We offer a wide range of finishes, including paint and powder coat colors in RAL and PMS, as well as textured, metallic, and woodgrain options. Premium and specialty finishes may also be available, depending on the material and project scope.

Yes – when necessary we’ll suggest alternate designs, materials or finishes to get your project in budget. But we’re also uniquely able to leverage our Plus and Flex programs to minimize engineering time and cost, sometimes making the ‘impossible project’ possible.

Yes. Listing requirements or certifications are reviewed during the feasibility stage to confirm compliance and identify any factors that would affect cost or lead time.
